I love the piano, and I love being a part of the journey to help others discover it! I am committed to pursuing truth and beauty in my life, and music--specifically the piano--has been an important part of my own journey. Music helps us as creative, intelligent, and unique beings to explore our world, to express what we may not have words for, and to communicate with others.
Piano lessons include repertoire and instructions specifically tailored to each student’s learning style and personality. Lessons are "traditional" in the emphasis on learning to read music and playing the body of classical repertoire which has survived the test of time. However, lessons may also include playing by ear, improvisation, pop songs, lead sheets/chord charts, theory, or general musicianship. Lessons are meant to be a positive experience, motivating our journeys to become more fully our own selves.

August 2023 schedule update: I am currently not accepting new students. Please check the "find a teacher" option on mnmusicteachers.com for piano teachers in MN.
Normal policy: Students who intend to take lessons at a consistent time for the entire academic year may take advantage of the monthly payment option, $150/student, which is a good faith agreement between instructor and student to continue regularly scheduled lessons for the academic year. Monthly payments are due on the first lesson of each month, September through May. This includes an average of 30 lessons at the regularly scheduled time between Labor Day and the June recital (minimum 28 lessons; maximum 32 lessons). This 30 lesson structure allows for Christmas break, spring break, occasional illness, and other professional obligations for the instructor (no more than 2 cancellations per year per weekday by the instructor for professional obligations). Rescheduling options will be available on a limited basis and at viable times for both student and instructor. Video lessons (Skype, Facetime, Google Duo, FB Messenger) may be offered in extreme weather conditions. Students who frequently cancel or need to reschedule lessons may not receive 30 lessons.
Official first day of lessons is Tuesday, September 5. There will be NO LESSONS on the following days: **November 23-26 (Thanksgiving) **December 22-January 2 (Christmas break) Please communicate your spring break/vacation travel plans in advance. Additional "no lesson" days may be scheduled during the year due to my accompanying schedule. These days will be communicated in advance and will not be billed or counted in the lesson total.
